For anyone who's ever wished to have the power to make a really big impact on their community, GivingTuesday is a dream come true.
Established in the U.S. in 2012 as a celebratory kickoff to the holiday giving season, GivingTuesday, the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving, is an opportunity for people in our community to rally around the causes they believe in to build stronger neighborhoods, cities and regions.
This GivingTuesday we are at the ready to support the critical community cornerstones of education, financial stability and health here in Northwest Indiana.
You can be a powerful force of change for so many. Join us.
The best part about GivingTuesday? It doesn’t take a lot to make a large impact in our community. Donations as small as $5 make lasting change right in your own backyard.
- Donate the $5 you would have spent on coffee to provide a Reading Buddy to a child to launch them on a strong school career path.
- Donate that $10 you would have spent on a phone app to feed 50 elderly in need of care.
- Donate $25 to connect 34 of your neighbors in crisis to community resources.
- Donate $100 to give a 2 families a warm place to stay for a night.
And, just think what even bigger gifts can and will do for your neighbors.
It doesn't take much, but it does take action. Be their hero this GivingTuesday -- Tuesday, December 3.
Give to United Way of Porter County to support your community's vast network of safety net services. There is no time better than now. You'll be glad that you did.
