To us, LIVE UNITED isn’t just a cool hashtag or a motto. It’s how we believe the world gets better. When we all work together to help everyone else rise up, then we have a better community for all. Our partnership with Trenam Law shows that you believe that as well. Together, you help us create opportunities today that transform lives across Tampa Bay tomorrow and we hope we can count on your support this year.
Our work centers on improving the lives of the A.L.I.C.E. (Asset Limited, Income-Constrained, Employed) population by addressing access to quality education, removing barriers to financial stability and providing help in a crisis. Across our five-county footprint, 44% of households struggle to pay the bills, keep food on the table and cover just the basic needs. This year’s COVID-19 pandemic not only made their situation more precarious, but added thousands of new households to the ALICE ranks.
Here’s how your gift will impact lives.
Our Campbell Park (St. Petersburg), North Greenwood (Clearwater) and Sulphur Springs (Tampa) Resource Centers, located in our most underserved neighborhoods, have provided a lifeline for thousands over the last several months. Along with our usual services including resume and interview prep help, computer access for job searches, GED classes and job training, our resource centers have been providing food distributions for up to 500 individuals/families a week. Even as more people return to work, there is a looming crisis as the eviction moratorium ends and tens of thousands are at risk of being homeless. We are already working with legal partners, government and other non-profits to best address this situation.
By providing one-stop centers for financial stability, workforce assistance, and crisis intervention, we are helping people easily access the services they need to improve the lives of themselves and their families.
When you invest in United Way, you invest in the potential of all of us.
United, we are transforming lives, supporting households and building stronger neighborhoods. When you make a donation today, you’ll help individuals and families begin to realize their full potential.
