Three Ways to Give Back This Holiday Season

with your Family, Friends, Coworkers, or Neighbors!

Together, We Can

Building a strong community that takes care of everyone who lives here depends on your generous support.

The holidays are quickly approaching...

…and will be here before you know it! As things get bright and merry, we have a few exciting opportunities we want to get on your radar!

First up:

Celebrity Bagger (November 26th from 10 AM-6 PM)

First, Celebrity Bagger is happening at the Food City locations in St. Elmo, Hixson, and Fort Oglethorpe on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving (November 26th). Local “celebrities” will be working volunteer shifts to bag your groceries and raise money for the Times Free PressNeediest Cases Fund, which provides financial assistance to our community members struggling with a crisis. So as you’re shopping for Turkey Day and preparing to give thanks, make sure to take the opportunity to give back!

And that’s just the beginning of the holiday excitement over here at United Way of Greater Chattanooga…. we’re focusing hard on stability this season. Here are some other dates to put on your calendar.

Giving Tuesday & #CHAGives (December 3rd)

Join the largest day of giving across the globe! Donations to United Way of Greater Chattanooga this year during #CHAGives will be made in support of our stability efforts, including Building Stable Lives, our 211 help hotline, and the Neediest Cases Fund as well as our stability-related partners and initiatives. Supporting our community can be as simple as eating at Public House for lunch or dinner (10% of all food profits will be going to community impact) or giving easily online! Mark your calendar for lunch and dinner at Public House, and we’ll be following up with more day-of opportunities soon!

Holiday Gift Wrapping (December 6th-8th and 13th-14th)

We’ve partnered with Hamilton Place Mall to host a donation-based holiday gift wrapping booth, with all funds benefiting our stability efforts. This is a great way to give back with friends, coworkers and family. You can sign-up to volunteer for a gift wrapping shift here, or you can come have gifts wrapped yourself!

Happy Holidays!

There you have it, folks! Lots of chances to build up our neighbors this holiday season. Let’s do this, together.

P.s. - Don’t forget about the Times Free Press’ Neediest Cases stories that will be published twice a week starting after Thanksgiving. This is a very simple way to learn about the great work you’re empowering in our community and another way to give back this season.
